Do you know about the Global Forum for Food and Agriculture (GFFA)?

The 16th edition of the GFFA took place in Berlin from the 17.-20. January 2024.

The GFFA is the leading international conference on key issues for the future of the global agriculture and food sector. The political highlight of the GFFA is the Berlin Agriculture Ministers’ Conference on 20 January 2024 with around 70 agriculture ministers from all over the world and numerous international organizations.

The GFFA 2024 featured a lineup of esteemed speakers, including government ministers, CEOs, renowned scientists, and grassroots leaders, who shared insights, experiences, and innovative approaches to addressing food security challenges. Additionally, several initiatives and partnerships were announced during the event, aimed at catalyzing action and investment in sustainable agriculture and rural development.

At the GFFA 2024, around 2,000 international guests exchanged views in 16 expert panels, 2 high-level panels and a high-level debate as well as the innovation forum on the food systems of the future and closer cooperation at global level in order to achieve the sustainability goals of the 2030 Agenda and implement the human right to food.

The political highlight was the 16th Berlin Agriculture Ministers’ Conference, which was attended by 61 agriculture ministers from all over the world and 12 high-ranking representatives of international organizations. In their final declaration, the ministers pledged to continue on the path of necessary transformation towards sustainable and thus resilient agricultural and food systems and emphasized that this is the only way to realize the right to adequate food for all people. They recognized that the world has been shaken by the climate and biodiversity crisis and pledged to promote agricultural practices and technologies that strengthen sustainable food production.

This final declaration shows us how important projects and initiatives are which support and promote agricultural practices and technologies that strengthen sustainable food production.
